Louise Nicholson Carter One of Eight Finalists for the NAWBO Women Business Owner of the Year.
HOUSTON, TX September 23, 2004: Louise Nicholson Carter was one of eight finalists honored today at a luncheon hosted by the National Association of Women Business Owners. The winner of this prestigious award will be announced at a fundraising gala to be held October 20, 2004 at the J.W. Marriott. The beneficiary of this year’s gala is The Women’s Resource, an organization dedicated to improving the lives and futures of local women and children.

Louise
Nicholson Carter, IIDA awarded the 2004 ASID Interior Design Award -
1st Place Healthcare Division.
HOUSTON, TX September 9, 2004: Collaboration between CDA+ and the
design teams of 2 other architectural/design firms achieved
recognition yet again for their design work at the Denton A. Cooley
Building - Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke’s Episcopal
Hospital.
All aspects of design were provided for this $64 million space
including finish materials, lighting, furniture, space planning and
art consulting services.
At the request of the client for more “patient-friendly”
furniture, Louise designed a custom recliner with a “winged
headrest” which won The Nightingale Awards “Best of
Competition” at the 2002 Healthcare Symposium. Other art features
include: etched glass design on sliding glass break-away doors,
art-niches at the nurse stations and a beautiful kiln fired glass
wall in a public waiting room

Grand Opening Dr. Wheatley Stewart Medical Pavilion
ODESSA, TX May 11, 2004: Don Carter and Robert McKinney were on-hand to celebrate the opening of the Dr. Wheatley Stewart Medical Pavilion. The
CDA+ team provided all design services, project management and interior design for this 92,000 SF out- patient building. It includes 4 major OR’s offering flat screen and advanced technology touch screens, endoscopy and bronchoscopy procedure rooms, and an outpatient imaging department containing the latest in MRI and CT Scan technology.
The central plant and 350 space parking garage has space for triage and treatment in the event of area disasters and also houses the Medical Center’s air ambulance heliport.
Another feature of this project is the skybridge linking the second story to the main hospital. This bridge has already become a signature design element for Medical Center Hospital and the City of Odessa.
