Resident Inducted as Founding Member of American Academy of
Healthcare Interior Designers
Chicago, IL - June 13, 2005: Louise Nicholson Carter, AAHID,
IIDA has been inducted as one of the 50 founding members of the American
Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers, a new organization
dedicated to recognizing healthcare interior designers through
education, training, experience and examinations for advanced
certification
Louise
Carter has been working in the healthcare design field for more than
20 years and has completed many projects, including St.
Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Texas
Heart Institute, Trinity
Medical Center. She is a graduate of the University of Houston.
She is active in International Interior Design Association and Texas
Association for Interior Design.
The
50 founding members of AAHID are all specialists with typically a
decade or more of experience working in the field. Their first
task will be to develop an examination for certifying healthcare
interior design professionals, which will be conducted in
conjunction with the interior designer certification exams sponsored
by the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ)
beginning in April 2006.
The
injunction ceremony was hosted June 13, 2005 by KI,
one of the nation's leading manufacturers of healthcare furniture
and wall system solutions, during NeoCon,
the annual industry event serving architecture and design
professionals who specify furnishings and textiles for contractor
interiors.
