Size:
20,000 SF
Client: Medical Center Hospital - Odessa, Texas
MCH’s new Center for Heart Disease has two major program components - the Heart Catheterization Laboratories and the Chest Pain Center.
The Chest Pain Center was constructed in renovated space and contains 7 private
observation and stabilization rooms around a large telemetry monitoring work station.
The rooms were designed to have a non-institutional, home-like feel to induce a calming effect on the patients.
The Cath procedure area contains four cath labs with equipment control rooms,
a four bed preparatory zone and an adjacent six bed patient recovery area.
A family waiting area, consultation rooms, digital patient information viewing rooms,
and a student conference room for Texas Tech University’s medical school is included.
Staff areas include dressing rooms, lounge and administrative offices for management
and medical record keeping functions.
